Why we Love Copper

For the everyday

Copper is an amazing amplifier and conductor of energy, this warming mineral is ripe for helping you release excess charge and conduct positive vibrations.

Historically speaking

It has ancient links to tending the wounded and being smelted in India to create surgical tools. Even so, it was only in the 1970’s that the United States started to recognize the healing elements of Copper.

Where we source from

Jacquie sources her supplies (including copper) from Canadian sources as much as possible.

How it’s Made

  • 1 | Measure, Cut & Drill

First I begin with a sketch. Then followed by cutting the shape using a guillotine and disc cutter. Then annealing/doming, shaping, etc.

  • 2 | Polish & Prep

Next I thoroughly scrub, sanding and removing any trace of oils from the copper.  Using a glue-like reagent which I make, I carefully spray it on the back of the piece (s).

  • 3 | Color

Determined by the Coefficient of Variation (science nerds like Jacquie will get this reference), and colour choice, I carefully sift on the enamel powder.

  • 4 | Fire Color

Using a flame torch, or a kiln, the piece is heated until the powder is melted to the desired end point. I enamel both sides a minimum of 2 times each to create the desired effect.

  • 5 | Assemble & Shine

After both sides are to my liking, I then manually sand, polish and the finished piece is assembled. I also use crystals, gems and other stones to adorn the piece.

The entire process takes anywhere from 2-4 hours for each copper piece.

What makes this process so special?

While each piece is made with intention, sometimes the desired outcome is different (and magical), from what was envisioned!

For this reason, there’s no guarantee an exact outcome of the final product, but that is also what makes each piece so special!
