Jewelry Care
Enamelled copper is thin layers of glass melted onto the copper surface. We coat our raw copper pieces (not enamelled), with a museum grade wax to slow down tarnishing. It is durable, but like all good jewelry, it does require some TLC.
For everyday care, we recommend:
Do not bend the piece nor drop on a hard surface. Enamel can crack under these situations. Be sure to store accordingly.
Do not expose copper to harsh cleaning chemicals, hot tubs, or chlorinated water.
Cleaning your Copper Jewelry
Enamelled pieces can be washed with mild soap and dried with a soft cloth.
A small copper polishing cloth is included with each purchase.
Tarnished Jewelry Care
Jacqueline treats her raw copper pieces (not enamelled), with a museum grade wax to slow down tarnishing. Some customers like the slightly tarnished appearance as it is an organic change and, much like women, gets better with age!
If it becomes tarnished and you would like to restore it, simply wipe clean (cloth included). You may want to add a tiny amount of copper polish. Alternatively, something acidic can be applied to remove any tarnish. For example: lemon juice/vinegar.
